The Mothers’ Union and Christian Women of the Diocese of Kampala have reaffirmed their confidence in the leadership of Mrs. Carolyn Elizabeth Kikoyo, re-electing her as President during their Annual General Meeting held on Saturday 22 November 2025 at All Saints’ Cathedral, Kampala
The gathering, marked by prayer, fellowship, and orderly elections brought together representatives from all parishes across the Diocese.
During the elections, Mrs. Tamar Kharono Ssembiro was voted in as the new Vice President, while Mrs. Sifficient Kakira was elected Missions and Evangelism Secretary, a role central to the organisation’s outreach and discipleship mandate.
According to their constitution, the remaining executive positions will be elected during the first meeting of the Women’s Council. The Council comprises all parish Mothers’ Union and Christian Women Chairpersons from across the Diocese.
In her acceptance remarks, Mrs. Kikoyo expressed deep appreciation for the renewed trust:
“I am grateful for this confidence in my leadership and I commit to continue serving with integrity and humility, to the glory of God.”

The elections were overseen by the Diocesan Missions Coordinator, Rev. Canon Geoffrey Byarugaba, who represented the Diocesan Secretary. The event was coordinated by the Family Ministries Coordinator, Mrs. Miriam Birakwate Mukoombozi, and attended by the Diocesan Chancellor, Ms. Diana Angwech.
The Diocese of Kampala congratulates all elected leaders and prays for God’s guidance as they continue their dedicated service to the families.
