Kampala Lunch Hour Fellowship Launched

By Ivan Naijuka
Thursday, January 15, 2025, in the bustling city of Kampala, the Diocese of Kampala has launched the Kampala Lunch Hour Fellowship at the 13th floor of the Janani Luwum Church House.

The Diocesan Secretary Rev Canon John Awodi in his homily read from Luke 9:1-6, reminded the congregation that Jesus called his disciples and gave them the power and authority to drive out demons, heal the sick, and proclaim the Good News.
“If we are to be effective in ministry in this city, “Canon Awodi emphasized, “We must recognize that our authority is delegated, and it demands humility. We must work within the domains of the authority given to us.”

He added that, “To be faithful to the call, we need to develop God’s perspective in ministry. We must trust God, knowing that He knows our needs.”
Rev Canon Geoffrey Byarugaba, the Diocesan Missions Coordinator who is also the coordinator of the fellowship urged people to make it their fellowship place every day when they are in the city and to dethrone all satanic thrones that have been enchanted over the city of Kampala.

“Every throne in the city of Kampala will be overthrown, and they will bow before the throne of God established here today! The Altar we have raised today will not leave this city the same. People in businesses, in offices, those travelling through the city should feel the power of Jesus Christ,” Canon Byarugaba said.

The launch of the Kampala Lunch Hour Fellowship marked the beginning of a new chapter in the city’s spiritual journey and the Janani Luwum building in particular along Kampala Road.

The daily fellowships will begin on Monday 20 January 2025 at the 13th floor of the Janani Luwum Church House.
Those who would like to come for the fellowship are encouraged to carry their National Identity Cards for easy access to the building.
