The Rev. Dr. Henry Majwala

The Diocese of Kampala is honored to welcome The Rev. Dr. Henry Majwala, a seasoned church leader, academic, and administrator with more than two decades of faithful ministry in the Church of Uganda.

Early Life and Education

Born on 13th December 1976 to Mr. James Kiyingi Lubega and Mrs. Sarah Kawejja, Rev. Dr. Majwala grew up in Masaka.

His early schooling began at Kinono Primary School before joining Bishop Senior School, Mukono for both O’ and A’ Levels, where he studied Mathematics, Economics, and Geography (MEG), aspiring to become a
statistician. However, his academic journey was not without hardship. After his grandmother could no longer support him, relatives and well-wishers stepped in, enabling him to continue his studies. At times, he labored as a manual worker in exchange for school fees, sold firewood and bananas, and made bricks to
sustain himself.

Despite these challenges, God’s providence paved the way. He pursued a Diploma in Theology (Uganda Martyrs Seminary Namugongo), a Bachelor of Divinity (UCU), a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (Ndejje University), a Master of Human Resource Management in Education (UCU), a Master of Theology (Western Theological Seminary, USA), and later a PhD in Education from Nelson Mandela University, South Africa.

missions, couples’ ministries.
